What to try to outsmart cigarettes

How to outsmart cigarettes at Work

When everyone else takes a cigarette break, take a break yourself, but spend it doing something constructive. Take a walk around the block or have a cup of coffee with a co-worker who doesn't smoke.

How to outsmart cigarettes when feeling frustrated at work

Get out the stress balls, rubber bands, pencils and paper clips - anything you can squeeze, bend, break or snap. It's a good way to relieve stress and let off a little steam.

The after-meal urge to smoke

Get up after eating. Do the washing up - even if you have a dishwasher. Take a walk. Simply by changing your environment, you're not dwelling on the urge but trying to fight it.

How to outsmart cigarettes if you have time on your hands

Call a mate. Knit, sew, or look for something to repair. Keep your hands busy till the urge passes.

Kiss somebody

Kissing is a great way to keep your mouth busy. If your significant other is nearby and in the mood, go for it.
Ask your doctor about treatments that can help you break the hold of nicotine addiction.
